What is Reiki
Reiki, a Japanese technique, aims to reduce stress, induce relaxation, and facilitate healing by channeling "life force energy" through the hands. The term combines "Rei" (God's Wisdom or Higher Power) and "Ki" (life force energy). Reiki treats the entire person—body, emotions, mind, and spirit—yielding relaxation, peace, and well-being. Though spiritual, Reiki is not a religion, accessible to everyone regardless of belief. Reiki, taught through attunements by a master, enhances health and quality of life, often complementing medical treatments.
Founded by Mikao Usui, Reiki incorporates simple ethical ideals for harmony. These ideals, added during meditation, promote spiritual balance and an active commitment to self-improvement. Recognizing the necessity of personal responsibility in healing, the Usui system of Reiki extends beyond energy use, emphasizing a holistic approach for lasting results.
